The theme might include an introduction or tutorial for new members, NPCs, name and layout, games, currency, etc. But the general hope from staff is to keep the theme low key and not make it the main point of the site, so it might not include any of those things. It's possible that the theme may start out very basic, and additional things may be added over time. Please keep that in mind. (Also, no theme will be based on any specific religion)
Basic Afterlife: "You've died, welcome to the afterlife!" But in a happy and cheerful way. Just really basic, like the intro/tutorial and that's it. Our avatars are different creatures, all that every user has in common is that they were once mortals, but this is a whole new story, which the user can plan for themselves if desired. The afterlife is a place where you forget the past and take up new challenges. A shared story.
Heaven: Not heaven in an actually religious way, more of a basic concept of a perfect dream. Something like "what kind of spirit do you want to be?" Like street, cute, dark; with a variety of clothes styles. But anyone can still wear anything.
Dream world: a magical dream land where anything can happen, kind of place. Possibly multiple "lands" based on different dream concepts. Worlds that "rotate" in every month, maybe with a themed contest or event.
Lands (fantasy): Inspired by the Wicca concept of "summerland", their idea of an afterlife. Have several lands to choose from to be your home land. Like picking teams, you might get a badge or something with your land name. Could have corresponding npc and themes, but anyone can wear anything. Possibly picking your "guardian" type.
Afterlife Lands When you're just starting out, you get to choose between traveling to the Floating/Flying City above the clouds or the Sunken/Buried City below the ground. (It is a bit like the heaven and hell concept but without the religion attached to it.)What your choice would change could be small things like the default layout. Both places would have their own aesthetic and there could be shops corresponding with them (available to everyone), as well as themed games.Other places could be added too, such as one based on nature (on the ground) and a futuristic one in outer space.
Light vs Dark: Based on fairy mythology. Like the Seelie Court (light fairies) and Unseelie Court (dark fairies). It's not good vs evil! (The mythology is what kind of magic they had and stuff) Pick your choice of world, light of dark. They don't really matter except if the site does an event where they face off or something. Otherwise it's just a badge and npc or something.
Fashion: The site name is the name of a fashion brand or fashion magazine. Or a fashion journalist. The site games, leveling, etc. would be based around fashion or moving up in the magazine.
Space: Your energy is ejected into the cosmos. Everything is space themed, like locations are planets (real or imaginary). And it's about spreading your energy. Clothes and things wouldn't have to be space themed.
