I hope it is okay for me to make a thread about this. I listed some of the legal/financial matters we need to take care of for the development of a new community.
Financial:
- Set up a Kickstarter for the financing of the site.
- Create a bank account that is accessible by multiple people but also be able to prevent one (or a number of persons) from running away with the money.
Legal:
- Make sure the site name is not already copyrighted.
- All art/designs/dolls need to be checked for copyright before being published on the site so we avoid any copyright lawsuits or anything like that.
- Set up a proper and complete terms of conditions.
- Set up a contacting mail address and a FAQ.

Do we need some kind off in game currency? That's still being discussed but it isn't a legal matter until we bring in a real money payment option. |

Do we need some kind off in game currency? we would probably have it like vp and gsm had it popdollars/gomoney and credits/diamonds since the website needs money 2 continue going. but that is also good to bring up in financial questions, how to run the website and discussing how you should price the "exklusive" currency |

I know someone who was starting their own avatar site and got a lot of help from Kasheena (the original owner and creator of Caedon.net). She's starting a new site now, so I don't know what she's online much, but at the time she was totally willing to help with legal info, and coding and stuff. Might be worth asking her?

She's starting a new site now, so I don't know what she's online much, but at the time she was totally willing to help with legal info, and coding and stuff. Might be worth asking her? Please do so! I had some creative differences with the current owner (Imaiination) but it's pretty well run. And I'm helping the original owner start a new site, so I can try and contact her. She's been doing school, but I'm guessing will be out nowish?
