I suggest that once the site is up and running, we keep the site in closed alpha for a month. The site will be in the late stages of its development. Only certain invited people can register and play, and test out bugs, security holes, give tips and make suggestions to improve the site etc. Everyone who is then on afterlyfe.boards.net will be invited.
Then the site will be an open beta for a month, anyone is free to make an account for a fixed period (say 1 or 2 weeks) but traffic will be regulated. This is also to test out bugs but this second stage will mainly be to track user experience, and how well the game functions, and how enjoyable it is.
After the open beta all progress will be wiped, but users get to keep their account.

Sounds great! I'd love to be a tester because I'm a bug magnet.

"Everyone who is then on afterlyfe.boards.net will be invited."
with 300 members, i'm not sure this is the best idea? or could you clarify what you mean by this?

I think it should be tested by a few users, not all members. Still, a really good idea
