I wanted to introduce a neopets-ish idea, namely, mini-pets.
At the beginning of the game, every player gets a mini-pet they can choose from a collection of mini-pets, they can take care of them, feed them, and train them (thus making them more valuable). These mini-pets level up just like the player. You can sell and buy a total of 3 mini-pets, different mini-pets have different worth, which depends on their rarity and level. Your mini-pet cannot die and you're not obligated to feed them everyday (rip to all our starving neopets).
If you like the idea, do you prefer real animals, hybrids, or completely made up species?
Please tell me any suggestions or changes you like to make.

We could have Spirit Animals wow
Since the theme is the afterlife, it would of course be fitting if they would be a bit undead themselves. Some examples being a skeleton cat, spirit bunny, ghost fish, a zombie dog etc.
Some ideas: They could be given names and used as your sprite in certain games.
There could be a system like Flight Rising where you can show them love once every day, which will gain them xp and in time make them level up. This creates another reason to log in every day.
At each level, you could get a gift/item, either for you or your pet. Perhaps with every new level, you get a slight boost in game prizes.
Maybe you could tick a box to show them beside your avatar too.

Made up species! It would be really nice. And it is possible, that we could buy items for them (Clothing for example). And everytime we level up, they level up and "grow" up

It would be fun if there are real pets and fictive/fantasy pets, then everyone can have the pets they prefer. Or maybe 3(?) forms of a pet: kinda living pet - a zombie version - an elf version/with a halo/... but I really wouldn't stick on one kind/form of mini pet, it's more fun if there are more kinds/forms.

I like the idea of being able to have your own pet sort of
especially if you could customize it to look like your actual pet
(it'd be pretty easy to make my cat Freeman)

koolaid if this idea is accepted we'd need designers to make them I guess it couldn't be crazy cartoony or it wouldn't match the human base style
