If people want to go with the afterlife theme but still keep it focused on chatting and collecting items, it sounds like a good idea that the afterlife-part would be limited to a short introduction, items, and maybe (as suggested) a tag to put on your profile. Some ideas surrounding this would be that when you're just starting out, you get to choose between traveling to the Floating/Flying City above the clouds or the Sunken/Buried City below the ground. It is a bit like the heaven and hell concept but without the religion attached to it. The premise doesn't have to be the same either. What your choice would change could be small things like the default layout. Both places would have their own aesthetic and there could be shops corresponding with them (available to everyone), as well as themed games. Other places could be added too, such as one based on nature (on the ground) and a futuristic one in outer space. An idea for a different theme could be dreams. The name can still be Afterlife, or something else like, uh, Dreamfield, Somewhere, Elsewhere, Shifter, etc. The idea behind that would be that you could be anything you wanted to. Okay this sounds nice and clean too

Sorry to be a pain but would you be able to copy and paste it here? Sure, np here it is For the origin story if we're sticking with the afterlife sort of theme we could just say something like "you've been reborn....Welcome to the Afterlyfe" or whatever you guys end up calling it go on to explain, how when a person dies they become a virtual character in a game or story controlled by their pasts self if you want to live well in your next life, you better take good care of your avi in The Afterlyfe. Blah blah blah this is your room buy amenities for your avi so that, when you're offline, your future self won't be bored when you're away. Also, if you are uncomfortable being naked in your present, be considerate of future you and wear some clothes which you can purchase (shows where the shop button is) "here" aah I remember reading it now, ty :3 I'll add it to the first post soon

Honestly I'd love to go with Greek gods but that's kinda religion right? We could base our stories on greek mythology I don't think it's really considered a religion tbh and nowadays people are more interested in it rather than believing in it

A dream land also sounds really cool.
I like all the ideas? An afterlife/heaven place. Dream place. Magazine company. XD

Has anyone heard of or played Monument? It's an extremely aesthetically pleasing game with a v nice atmosphere. looking at the first suggestion, i was reminded of it. It's original, it's not cliche or loud, and I feel like the color theme and design could fit really well w/ the new site. I'm not saying we should copy them or anything, that'd b disrespectful for such a beautifully crafted game, but i think that type of smooth theme could definitely appeal to tons of people.

Okay this sounds nice and clean too I feel like if there's so many options at first, people would have too much to do and it'd b easy to get overwhelmed easily. How about like, one main theme, and a bonus "world" that rotates every month or so? That'd keep it entertaining and it wouldn't confuse people.

random; the only problem i have with the afterlife-theme is that it doesnt make much sense to users that are completely new and doesnt even know VP is a thing. sure, its fun for us, but new people will be confused

Monthly items, contests, games, etc. could be "from" that world?

we can also give on the bonus world gifts for unlocking new bonus "world" like background or something to collect until the next theme (which makes it limited?)

Plus we'd have to think about how to use it. If the layout would be, tabs across the screen w/ different categories, we could put the dreams idea in the games category w/ a shortcut on the main layout? getting ahead of myself tho;;; this stuff takes alot of time to organize. sorry ;_;

the key thing is to not put too much in the "worlds/dreams" or whatever we're doing at first. being too much w/ established ground makes a site flop. There's just not enough people supporting something to make it grow. It'd end up unused if there's too many parts to it. Too many items, backgrounds, prizes, that's sort of like capitalism which only makes sense when there's people to use those things.

I'd say to truly focus on the site working before we get into 'gimmicks' and events. we could always test it out once bugs/glitches start to settle down. maybe just do two testers and see how it goes. It truly does, sadly. no, no it's good. we need all stuff like this to help develop which themes are most flexible, adaptable and can stand the test of time :3
