I have so contradictory feelings about this idea. First of all I would love for the theme to be as neutral as possible, so we can reach out to as many and different people as possible. W/o all these characters or this big plot around the site. But on the other hand I kind of love the idea of having a FEW characters, or HOSTS on the site, but a very limited amount and not too much focus on this. An idea to the idea, would maybe be to have a main HOST character who welcomes you and explains how the game/site works, with tutorial and that -maybe including a shorr backstory of the site.. Someone to represent the site? And maybe he/she would only be found later in a section for FAQ, where he/she will answer the FAQ for you, or recommend to you someone else (a real person) who might give a better and longer answer if you didn't get the answer you needed. This recommended person might differ based on your question, what area of expertice is needed. So in other words, this ONE character would maybe be enough, so we don't overdo the idea. In addition we could maybe have a character to represent each mini-game as well, as that might be more accepted to a wider audience. xx I am all for the theme of the site not being overbearing. It can be something really basic, that just dictates the look of things like layout and games. Almost a color scheme and a character or two. It doesn't have to be much more than that. But I do think you're right about a short tutorial at the beginning with some kind of npc. I don't think that would dissuade anyone, rather I think it should hopefully intrigue people. Having a character or characters at the FAQ and games is a really fun idea! And I agree we don't need a whole story and ongoing plot necessarily.

Like, especially with this site, which can have a very interesing theme. I feel like having characters, or maybe some sort of "main" characters at least, could give the site the little more extra interesting factor that it might need.

With her dove as a sidekick or smth She could have, like, a "demonic" side (as she looks pretty normal and sweet in the banner) that would pop up occasionally in the tutorial. Such as we have a good layout and a bad layout here, she could have two sides? I think it would match the afterlife theme. Just a suggestion

There should be some "official" characters in game. Like a "God" and a "Satan" or something like that :B
